Published: January 17, 2025

People using a variety of devices: mobile phone, tablet and laptop computers.

We’re pleased to announce the launch of Advanced endpoint protection as part of the University’s Endpoint Protection Program (EPP), designed to strengthen security for University-owned devices, including workstations, laptops, mobile devices and servers. This service supports U of T’s mission to safeguard institutional data, reduce cyber risks and ensure operational continuity.

  • Delegated access and visibility: Unit administrators are empowered to manage endpoint configurations, monitor security alerts and respond to incidents promptly.
  • 24/7 incident monitoring and response: Our Incident Response team, in partnership with Vigilance (a third-party security provider), monitors and addresses security incidents around the clock.
  • Institutionally funded: This service is fully funded by the University and comes at no cost to individual units.

Who can use it?

IT administrators or divisional leads can request the service for their respective units. We encourage unit administrators from existing participating units to onboard their devices promptly.

Getting started

For more details on the service, including how to request the service, FAQs and usage guides, please visit our Advanced endpoint protection webpage or reach out to your local unit administrator.

This new service is a significant step forward in bolstering the University’s endpoint security and supporting a safer digital environment for our community.
