Overview

The Risk Management team provides guidance on information security risk management and privacy assessments to various units and divisions to enable them to manage information security risk exposure. This helps senior management to make risk-informed decisions. They also conduct risk assessments for IT systems (software, platforms, applications, webpages and services) that are implemented at the University.

The Data Asset Inventory and Unit Information Risk Self-Assessment (DAI-IRSA) enables units to actively manage their information risk and data governance and to broaden their understanding of shared challenges across the University.

The Strategic Execution team drives the execution of the U of T Information Security Strategy in partnership with all units and in alignment with the priorities of the University community.

They provide project management services, project coordination and oversight including the delivery of the 10 institutional security strategic initiatives.

The Office of the CISO team works with the Information Security Council to drive governance for the information security program. This includes establishing security standards and procedures and fostering risk management efforts in alignment with the governance framework.

The team manages engagement and communication with internal and external partners, along with running security awareness and education campaigns. It also establishes and oversees procedures for day-to-day operations of the Office of the CISO and the Information Security team.
