Apple users strongly urged to update all devices
Published: May 15, 2025

Security researchers at Oligo have disclosed a set of serious vulnerabilities in Apple’s AirPlay Protocol and Software Development Kit, collectively known as “AirBorne.” These flaws enable remote code execution, access bypass and denial of service attacks — potentially allowing attackers to take control of both Apple and third-party AirPlay-enabled devices over Wi-Fi, without user interaction.
Apple has issued patches following responsible disclosure by Oligo. Users are strongly advised to update all Apple devices. Third-party vendors and automotive systems using AirPlay should also be checked for firmware updates.
